Sept 2011: Presentatie Innoveren in de zorg door design thinking gegeven op Cliëntenparticipatie 2.0, Utrecht, 27 Sept 2011, georganiseerd door Movisie en Vilans.

Sept 2011: Presented a poster, based on a paper, on applying the capapbility approach to the design of social networking services in the WeCare project, at the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) Conference.

May 2011: Presented a paper on the ethics of participatory design at the Nordes 2011 conference.

March 2011: Working on two articles: one paper in which I discuss co-design as a process of joint inquiry (drawing from pragmatist philosopher John Dewey), and one paper paper in which I discuss participatory design as the cultivation of virtues (drawing from Aristotelian virtue ethics).

January 2011: Working on three articles about projects that I am currently working in, reflecting on the co-design process: MiReCol, TA2 and WeCare.

2 July 2010: Presented a paper on Slow Innovation, which I wrote together with co-worker Steven Dhondt, at EGOS 2010 Colloquium. We discuss how to organize innovation projects in such ways that the people involved have room for exploration, reflection and learning.

July 10, 2009: Presented a paper on Co-design and Pragmatism, at the 2009 Conference of the Sciety for Philosophy and Technology. I discuss how to understand and organize co-design as a process of inquiry.

June 25, 2009: Presentatie De mens centraal bij het ontwikkelen van telemedicine toepassingen (service design en user involvement), op Congres Domotica voor de Zorgomgeving.

June 11, 2009: CHI Netherlands 2009 Conference, which I helped to organize as a member of the programme committe and editor of the conference proceedings.

November 28, 2008: Defended my doctoral dissertation, 'The fragility of human-centred design', at Delft University of Technology. I wrote this dissertation as a participant in the part-time practitioners' PhD program of the University for Humanistics. My supervisors were professor Hugo Letiche of the University for Humanistics and professor Jan Buijs of Delft University of Technology.

November 18, 2008: Presentation about Mensgericht ontwerpen van ICT diensten (human-centred design and service design), at Freeband FRUX closing event: Mobiele diensten ontwerpen en exploiteren.

September 2, 2008: Co-organized a workshop on Co-Design at MobileHCI 2008.

Since June 2008: Active in two ICT Innovation Platforms (IIP, see www.ictregie.nl for more info): in IIP Intelligent Communication (working group Social); and in IIP Create (working group Ways of Working).

March 11, 2008: Presentation Patient-centred design in e-Health, at 10e Symposium van het Nationaal Platform e-health.

Feb 12, 2008: Presentation about human-centred design and user involvement, at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2008, during a panel on "It's the User Experience, Stupid!"

June 28, 2007: Presentation about Design for the real world, at Freeband Ambient Communication Event. This proposal for further research was labeled "best" by public vote.
